My Story
I have struggled with severe anxiety & emetophobia since I was 8 years old. As a child, I had no idea what was wrong with me. I didn’t know what anxiety or ‘mental health’ was.
I still persevered earning myself a degree in Psychology and a Masters in Forensic Mental Health. I managed to earn degrees and achieve some amazing things, but was still always struggling with my anxiety.
Fast forward to 2020, my mental health remained at rock bottom. I felt alone, hopeless and like my life would never get better. I was a burden to everyone around me. I was feeling more lost than ever and shortly after, lockdown hit us. This is when I almost gave up.
It was at this point that I stumbled upon the power of journaling. It started off with incoherent ramblings and scribbles on tear-soaked pages of paper. I had finally found a place to articulate my fears, question myself, and confront my challenges.
After a short time, journaling brought me self-awareness, better sleep, and heightened productivity. Journaling provided a valuable outlet to channel my anxieties onto paper.
I started Lovendu with just £10. The birth of my own little journaling empire. I wanted to find my place in the world in which I belong and be able to work on my mental health and connect with others who want to do the same. I found this place by creating it myself and took my mental health into my own hands.
